What sets me apart?
I've taught refugee students in Amarillo and defended a doctorate at Harvard, and I'll tell you a secret: the classroom was the harder credential. That combination — twenty-plus years in Title I Texas public schools plus rigorous academic training — means I can move between worlds most people can't. I can sit with a superintendent's board deck in the morning and a struggling first-year teacher in the afternoon, and speak both languages fluently.
What I've learned from coaching speakers at TED-Ed, advising state departments of education, and working with organizations from Google to the Qatar Foundation is that lasting change never comes from the slick, polished playbook. It comes from people who feel seen, questions that invite honesty, and stories that tell the truth. That's what I bring: real-world experience, current research, and an unshakeable belief that the humans doing the work matter more than the system trying to manage them.
